OptiGrid: Automatic Mesh Adaptation
How often have you heard: “this grid is not good for that code”, or “this grid is not good for that problem”? How much time have you wasted “generating good grids”? OptiGrid not only takes away the guess work in generating “good” grids, it yields an “optimal” one. It is an automatic mesh adaptation and CAD reconstruction software that yields high-precision CFD at lowest cost, from “any” code.
Better surface and initial grids from any grid generator: OptiGrid reconstructs the CAD from the grid supplied and proceeds with surface smoothing, mesh smoothing and cells concentration in desired directions before starting the CFD calculation.
Continuously improving grids: OptiGrid assesses solution quality during iteration and modifies the mesh to reduce and equalize the error by moving, refining, coarsening and swapping. Being edge-based, OptiGrid can be coupled to any FVM/FEM/FDM code that uses unstructured meshes, such as FLUENT, CFX and others.
OptiGrid yields anisotropic meshes that capture with high resolution, and fewest points, uni-directional CFD features such as shocks, boundary layers, wakes, vortices and slip lines.
You do not care for a better grid? But you at least would like to know how reliable your solution is before using it, right? So why not try to just use (free) OptiGrid in a post-processing way to look at the distribution of errors in the solution provided by your present CFD code? You may be “surprised”.
